
Dr. Justin Longo

Dr. Justin Longo is an Associate Professor at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Regina, where he directs the Digital Governance Lab. He holds a Ph.D. in public policy and public administration from the University of Victoria, focusing on the implementation of social collaboration platforms within government policy‑analysis settings.
Prior to joining academia, Dr. Longo served as the Cisco Systems Research Chair (2013-2015), developing innovative web 2.0 tools for public‑sector modernization at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Open Governance at Arizona State University’s Center for Policy Informatics.
Dr. Longo earned his MPA and BA in Economics from the University of Victoria, equipping him with strong analytical foundations in both public administration and economics.
With a robust portfolio of research spanning digital policy, open governance, and public‑sector innovation, he is recognized for bridging academic theory and practical policy applications. His work promotes more collaborative, transparent, and tech-enabled government systems across Canadian public institutions.
