Robert Martellacci (MA EdTech) is president of MindShare Learning Technology, Canada’s leading EdTech strategy, news & events company he founded in 2001. Mr. Martellacci is also president & co-founder of C21 Canada—Canadians for 21st Century Learning & Innovation.
Mr. Martellacci is a lifelong learner who is committed to connecting business and education to transform learning in the 21st century to support student success. He completed a transformational learning journey as a mature student earning a master’s in educational technology from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California which inspired the creation of the MindShare Learning Report—Canada’s Learning & Technology eMagazine.
Mr. Martellacci has over 25 years of expertise and thought leadership in education as a former university administrator at York University; he also launched The Learning Company School Division for Kevin O’Leary which was the catalyst to forming his start-up MindShare Learning following the Mattel acquisition.

Director, Master of Science in Sustainability Management (MScSM)
Dr. Brett Caraway is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, where he serves as the Program Director for the Master of Science in Sustainability Management (MScSM) program within the Institute for Management and Innovation (IMI). He also holds appointments with the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information & Technology; the Faculty of Information; and the School of the Environment. Prior to joining the University of Toronto, he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. His research explores the intersections of technological innovation, economics, and sustainability. He is the author of Digital Media Economics (SAGE) and has published in journals such as the Journal of Outdoor Recreation & Tourism–Research Planning & Management, IEEE Multimedia, Media, Culture & Society, Environmental Communication, Information, Communication & Society, and Communication Theory.
Superintendent - Innovation, Artificial Intelligence, & Pathways PDSB
Bernadette Smith is the Superintendent of Innovation, Artificial Intelligence & Pathways with the Peel District School Board, bringing 30 years of experience across the K–12, postsecondary, and policy sectors. Her career spans roles as a classroom teacher, school administrator, Ministry of Education policy lead, and postsecondary instructor, with a consistent focus on transforming learning environments to be engaging, inclusive, and future-ready. Bernadette has led major system-wide initiatives that promote student agency, digital innovation, and global competencies through strategic partnerships with community, academic, and industry leaders. She is deeply committed to cultivating modern learning experiences that empower students to take ownership of their learning and see their identities reflected in the curriculum and school culture. As a former Education Officer with the Ontario Ministry of Education and an instructor with both OISE and the Ontario Principals’ Council, Bernadette has contributed to provincial policy development and leadership training grounded in research, reflection, and action. Her leadership has shaped initiatives in international education, virtual and blended learning, and interdisciplinary STEM learning. Bernadette is also recognized for championing scalable innovation that bridges local priorities with global trends in education. She believes in the power of collaborative design, where students, staff, families, and communities work together to redefine success and well-being. Grounded in humility, curiosity, and commitment, she continues to lead with a vision for education that prepares all learners for meaningful participation in a rapidly changing world.
