
Jackie Dixon

Jackie Dixon is an elementary Teacher-Librarian in Scarborough and a Let’s Talk Science Teacher Leader with a passion for integrating technology into teaching and learning. With over 20 years of experience in the Toronto District School Board, she holds additional qualifications in Teacher-Librarianship, Reading, Math, and Media Literacy. Jackie promotes STEM and digital literacy through library programs and collaborative learning spaces. She also teaches math, supporting students with math anxiety to build confidence and problem-solving skills. A Level 1 STEM Certified Educator with Let’s Talk Science, Jackie is especially interested in how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of education.

In today's increasingly digital world, it's more important than ever to equip your students with the skills and strategies they need to navigate online environments safely and effectively. You will also learn how to use AI responsibly, encouraging critical thinking and helping students become responsible digital citizens in a world where AI is everywhere. This Let’s Talk Science session will prepare you to help students become digitally literate by developing effective strategies for maintaining physical and mental health in the context of digital technology use.
